Here is a step by step guide on installing an antenna for when you have bought your antenna.
1) Choose where to mount your antenna. It is best to make the antenna height as high as possible for best reception. You can mount in the attic (indoor antennas), rooftop, or pole mounted, and also on the side of your home
2) Open the box of your antenna and and mounting hardware.
3) Each antenna will have instructions to mount the antenna. Once assembled and mounted, attach in the cox cable to the back of the antenna. Do not fully connect it as there will be further adjusting to do to get channels
4) From the antennna, run the coax cable to your ATSC tuner or digital converter box. Try to keep the distance of the coax as short as possible.
5) Now it is time to fine tune the antenna for recpetion. This is best done by having another person in front of the tv while you adjust the antenna to get the clearest signal quality.
6) Using the main menu on your High Defenition TV or converter box, select "auto program" or "auto scan"
7) Once the scan has finished, you can ues your High Defintion TV or converter box to check the signal strength meter for every channel.
8) Now that you have the signal strength peaked, tighten and secure the antenna and coax cables as no furhter adjustments are needed.
